Change Management

An approach which had been developed by Toyota is “Lean methodology”. This is an approach which uses the skills and knowledge of the employees to identify inefficiency, improve activities and transform the “product” of the business.

Lean uses seven principles to address the current position of the organisation and move it to perfection, these steps being:

  • Specification of Value – What is being delivered?
  • Identify the Value Stream – How do is it delivered?
  • Forming the Flow – Getting the steps in the right order
  • Understanding the Pull – Providing service when needed not when available
  • Obtaining Perfection – Working smarter not harder
  • The immediate prize – What can we improve now?
  • Avoiding Stagnation – Always moving forward

Through the establishment of “Change Champions” and engagement from all levels of the organisation waste within processes can be removed to provide a streamlined, efficiently delivered service to the customer.
